However, it’s also important not to analyze data in a vacuum. That’s where comparisons between products come into play.

A comparison between products allows you to quickly understand how competing products are performing differently in relation to specific features and topics.

Comparing two competing products has never been this easy. With Sentimate, all it takes is one click, and you get to see how your product is performing among consumers in comparison with any competitor. To use Sentimate’s Comparison Tool, just open the Product Analysis of a product, go to the Comparison Tool, and select the other product you want to compare.

Key Metrics

In the Key Metrics section, you can easily see how the two products are performing in regards to four metrics:

  • Category Rank: How each product is ranking in Sentimate’s official category rank
  • Sentiment: The satisfaction rate for each product
  • Verified Reviews: The volume of verified reviews for each product
  • Star Rating: The average star rating for each product

This feature helps you see which factors are affecting the consumers’ buying decisions for both products. The percentage score also shows how impactful each factor is.

A wider-scale comparison

While head-to-head comparisons between specific products are often helpful, in order to gain a broader understanding of the competitive landscape, it can be also useful to compare your product with its entire product category. At Sentimate, we do that by benchmarking the metrics of any given product against the average metrics of all of its competitors.

To compare your product with its category, go to the Comparison Tool, click on Compare and select “Compare to entire category.” The metrics you will see below are the average metrics for the entire product category.
